Quote from CSIC website: "The Online Immigration Consultant Certificate Program is an accredited, professional certificate program developed by the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants. The program satisfies the education prerequisite to CSIC membership and is integral to providing the foundational knowledge and skills required of a practicing immigration consultant".
Accredited by whom? Certainly not by any provincial authority. It is accredited by CSIC. It does not qualify for anything but CSIC membership. If anything happens to the E-Academy and the students are not able to finish the program... too bad. There is no recourse for them.
Why is CSIC involved in offering an online immigration program? 2 years ago, CMI Inc. was established for exactly this purpose. What happened to it?
A little bit about the program:
Length of program: 38 weeks
Required courses:
CSIC 100 – Introduction to Immigration Policy and Practice CSIC 101 – Economic Class CSIC 102 – Family Class CSIC 103 – Temporary Class CSIC 104 – Appeals, Admissibility Hearings and Detentions CSIC 105 – Refugee Class CSIC 106 – Business Ethics CSIC PP – Professional Prospectus (independent, business development project completed independently with assistance from an assigned CCIC Advisor)
Delivery Format:
All courses will be delivered online. There will be no synchronous (real-time) commitments for students.
So... we have now CSIC, CMI, IMMfund, E-academy. Pretty impressive, isn't it? Our Directors are wearing not one, not two hats... some of them are wearing more...
