We all were hoping that we would have the opportunity to meet the Board of Directors at our first Annual General Meeting since we became full members of the Society. Despite our frequent and urgent requests to have an in-person meeting, CSIC called an on-line Annual General Meeting. We are arguing that the By-laws require the meeting be conducted in person.
Not everybody is Internet savvy – many of our members barely use e-mail to communicate with their friends and clients. They are saying that they will not be able to fully participate in an online meeting because it is way over their head. Many don’t have high speed Internet connection and to participate in such a high-tech event would be impossible for them. Having an online meeting is discriminatory and raises a question why the Board is trying so hard to avoid face-to-face meeting with the Society’s shareholders.
CSIC members demand a face-to-face meeting with its Board of Directors. We are willing to wait for a few more weeks to give the Board the time to organize such a meeting.
